Welcome to the "One Good Turn" Tent
SONS OF THE DESERT
The official, worldwide, Laurel & Hardy appreciation society.

In the 30 years since its inception, the Sons of the Desert has grown into a world-wide organization dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of the films and persons of Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy. Chapters meet regularly to screen films, to socialize, and to share their enthusiasm with one another.

In Southern Connecticut, the One Good Turn tent holds regular meetings, ten (10) times a year on the first Sunday of each month, to share laughs, trivia and memorabilia and to view films on the big screen.  Screenings frequently include other rarely seen films of the same period such as Our Gang, Charlie Chase, Edgar Kennedy, The Boyfriends, Thelma Todd, and many others.  There are also occasional other special events to keep your interests alive.

If you are looking for wholesome and inexpensive family entertainment and a chance to share some film history, please join us. Our annual membership dues are only $20.00 and cover an entire household.

This entitles you to attend our meetings, to receive a monthly bulletin from the One Good Turn tent, and to receive an annual subscription to The Intra-Tent Journal, the international organization's quarterly magazine.  You'll get news from around the world about such things as behind-the-scenes facts on the making of these films, interviews with surviving technicians and performers from that era, and film preservation activities.

Meetings are held 4:30 - 7:30PM in Stamford, CT.  Check the Calendar for information about the current meeting.  For more information, please contact us.
